Smith Defeats Women's Tennis, 8-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., September 16, 2003- Smith College junior Lauren Kemp won at #1 singles and doubles as the pioneers defeated Springfield College, 8-1, in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference women’s tennis match at Appleton Courts Tuesday.

Smith improves to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the NEWMAC. The Pride falls to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Springfield College freshman Meghan Kelly (Queensbury N.Y.) won her third consecutive match at #5 singles.

Head Coach Tim Losee

Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
