Jamie Morrell Named Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., August 18, 2004 – Jamie Morrell has been appointed head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College.
“We are excited to have James on board for the upcoming year,” said director of athletics Cathie Schweitzer. “He brings enthusiasm and experience to our tennis programs”.
Morrell spent the 2002 and 2003 seasons as an assistant men’s tennis coach at Amherst College. He also served as assistant women’s tennis coach at Mount Holyoke College in 2001. His previous experiences includes tennis director of the South Hadley Recreational Department, and head girl’s tennis coach at Amherst High School.
Morrell earned a bachelor of science degree in hotel, restaurant, and travel administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2000. He is currently a tennis assistant at the Hunt Club in Westport, Conn.
Morrell takes over a women’s program that returns eight members of last season’s squad that finished with a 6-8 record. He will also guide a men’s team that finished 5-7 and returns seven players.

Head Coach Tim Losee

Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs.
