Men's Gymnastics Finishes Sixth At West Point Invitational
Complete ResultsWEST POINT, N.Y. - Springfield College senior Tim Goetz (South Plainfield, N.J.) finished eighth in the all-around competition with 50.45 points to lead the Pride to sixth place out of 10 teams at the West Point Invitational, Saturday.
The Pride competed with five Division I schools at the event, including several national powers. Penn State won the meet with 214.625 points followed by Nebraska (210.900) in second, Army (208.700) in third, Temple (206.150) in fourth Navy (200.350) in fifth, Springfield (198.700) in sixth, Houston N./Surgents Club (198.550) in seventh, James Madison (188.000) in eighth, So. Connecticut (187.400) in ninth and MIT (142.900) in 10th.
SC freshman Scott Goff (Syracuse, N.Y.) turned in a ninth-place performance in floor exercise with a score of 8.75.

Head Coach Steve Posner
Entering his 28th season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner, who has coached 135 All-Americans and 18 National Champions, led the Pride to another successful season in 2009. He has been named the NACGA Eastern Region Coach of the Year in each of the last two years.
