Tyson Briggs Paces Men's Golf At New Englands

BREWSTER, Mass., Oct. 19, 2004. – Springfield College junior Tyson Briggs (Bennington, Vt.) finished tied for 66th place out of more than 200 golfers at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships this weekend at the Captain's Course on Cape Cod.

Briggs carded a score of 162 over two rounds of competition. The Pride, which was seventh among the D-III teams competing at the event, ended up tied for 23rd overall out of 46 teams. SC and Divsion II Bentley both shot 655.

The University of Connecticut (606) edged Bryant (R.I.) and the University of Rhode Island by four strokes to take the team title.

SC junior Michael Regan (Granby, Mass) also did well finishing with a total of 164 (tie, 81st). Freshman Joe Tesori (Dewitt, N.Y.) was only a single stroke behind Regan with a combined score of 165.
