Men's Soccer Falls to MIT, 3-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 23, 2004 - MIT sophomore Ryan Sheffler scored two goals to lead the Engineers to a 3-0 victory over Springfield College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match at MIT this afternoon.
The Engineers would get the only goal it needed when Sheffler reached the back of the net in the 40th minute. Sheffler added his second goal of the match in the 84th minute. Freshman James Zorich also added a goal to pace MIT. Freshman Matt McKinley tallied two assists in the win.
SC freshman goalkeeper B.J. Sturdivant (Bear, Del.) stopped eight shots in 45 minutes of play while MIT outshot the Pride 19-9.
SC travels to Skidmore on Wednesday, Oct. 27 before hosting its final match of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 30 against Coast Guard at 1:00 p.m.
