Women's Gymnastics Falls To Univ. Of Bridgeport

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Feb. 16, 2005 – Springfield College sophomore Heather Tuden (Londonderry, N.H.) was victorious on the balance beam, but the women’s gymnastics team fell to the University of Bridgeport tonight, 183.875-182.725.

Tuden placed first on the balance beam with a score of 9.375, while freshman Kerry McGowan (East Lyme, Conn.), currently ranked ninth in Division III, placed second with a score of 9.350.

SC sophomore Jill Silverman (Ipswich, Mass.), ranked second in Division III on the vault, placed second in the event for the Pride (9.250) and freshman Andrea Spositi (Plano, Texas) was third (9.200).

Sophomore Joell Koller of University of Bridgeport won two events for the Purple Knights. Koller was triumphant on the parallel bars (9.575) and vault (9.300).

Junior Larissa Tabin (Holyoke, Mass.) placed second for the Pride in the floor exercise with a score of 9.600 and freshman Cara Chadbourne (New Salem, Mass.) placed third (9.575).
