

March 15, 2008 - Springfield College's Nikki Hay competed in the second day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the triple jump event.
Hay entered the Championships as the fourth seed in a field of 16. The Norwalk, Conn. native's longest jump of the season happened last weekend at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships. She recorded a mark of 11.61 meters, or 38-1 1/4.
Jumping in Flight 1 to start the day, Hay recorded a jump of 11.04m or 36-2 3/4, but did not qualify for the finals in the event. She officially finished 12th.
Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
