No. 13 Wrestling Falls To No. 5 College Of New Jersey, 28-6
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., February 1, 2004 – Springfield College sophomore Peter Marques (Massapequa, N.Y.) won his 133-pound match, but the No. 13 Pride fell to the No. 5 College of New Jersey, 28-6, on Sunday in Blake Arena.
Marques improved his overall record to 22-12 this winter.
SC senior Mike McWilliams (Newton, N.J.) earned a victory in his 184-pound match as he improved his record to 23-11 this season.
The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) sophomore Keith Bjorhus won his 285-pound match by way of a pin in a time of 4:10 as the Lions improve to 13-3 this season.
TCNJ junior Nick Vinciguera, nationally ranked No. 7 in the 197-pound division, defeated SC senior Tom Medonis (Wethersfield, Conn.), who is ranked No. 8 nationally at 197 pounds, 3-1.
SC (14-5) is back in action on Saturday, February 7, when it takes on Trinity, Johnson & Wales, and Plymouth State at Trinity.
