Women's Gymnastics Loses to Ithaca, 183.075-179.175

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., February 1, 2003 - Springfield College junior Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) finished first place in the all-around competition during Saturday's meet, but it wasn't enough as the visiting Pride lost to Ithaca, 183.075-179.175.

Romano-Joseph also captured first place on the vault (9.375), and the balance beam (9.500).

Also contributing for SC was sophomore Rachael McPhail (Duxbury, Mass.), who finished in a tie for first in the floor exercise with a score of 9.600.

Leading the way for Ithaca (1-1) was freshman Nancy Patterson (Yorktown, N.Y.), who placed first in the uneven bars (9.075) and second in the balance beam (9.475).

The Pride (0-5) competes at Brockport (N.Y.) on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 12 p.m.
