Men's Golf Finishes 18th at Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Sept. 25-26, 2004 - Springfield College freshmen Matt McCarthy (Springfield, Mass.) and Bryan Chiravaolo (Trumbull, Conn.) tied for 50th place to pace the Pride to an 18th place finish out of 25 teams at the Duke Nelson Invitational Golf Tournament this weekend in Middlebury, Vt.

McCarthy shot a first round 79 for SC’s best score on the weekend while Chiravaolo put together a round of 82 on Saturday.

NYU finished first on the weekend with a score of 619, followed by Williams (630), Hamilton (631), Middlebury (636), and Salem State (637). The Pride totaled a score of 669.

SC will compete in the WNEC Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 7.
