Clapp Shines At ECAC Cross Country Championships
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., Nov. 3, 2001- Springfield College finished 12th out of 35 teams at the ECAC Women's Cross Country Championship in Williamstown, Mass. The meet was hosted by Williams College.
Sophomore Marissa Clapp (Winchendon, Mass.) finished in second place for the second consecutive year and was named an ECAC All-Star.
Clapp competes at the NCAA Regional on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Stanley Park in Westfield where she where will attempt to qualify for NCAA National Championship Meet . Last fall, Clapp qualified for the national championship as a freshman and placed 52nd overall.

Head Coach Jim Pennington

Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
