SPRINGFIELD, Mass., December 8, 2006 – Springfield College junior quarterback Chris Sharpe and senior offensive lineman Adam Feit have each been named to the D3football.com All-East Region Offensive First Team, which is selected in balloting by Eastern regional sports information directors and D3football.com staff. In the same announcement, junior defensive back Joe Harasymiak was named a Defensive Second Team selection.

Sharpe, a junior tri-captain from Derry, N.H., led the Pride in all major offensive categories, breaking six NCAA records and 12 Springfield College records along the way. The junior quarterback finished the season with 1,941 total rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns. Sharpe's other post-season accolades include: New England Football Writers Gold Helmet Award (New England Div. II/III Player of the Year), the Joseph P. Zabilski Award (New England Div. II/III Player of the Year), First Team All-New England, and Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year and Empire 8 Offensive First Team.

Feit, a tri-captain from Chicopee, Mass., was a mainstay on SC's impressive offensive line this season. Along with being selected to the All-East Region First Team, Feit was also named to the All-New England First Team, All-Empire 8 First Team, and was selected to be a participant in the Aztec Bowl, which is happening on December 16th in Aguscalientes, Mexico.

Harasymiak, a cornerback from Waldwick, N.J., tied Keith Sweeney's Springfield College single season record of 10 interceptions. Along with the interceptions, the junior cornerback also garnered 25 total tackles, five pass deflections, and two blocked kicks. Harasymiak was also recently named to the Empire 8 All-Defensive Second Team to go along with his All-East Region Second Team honor.

Sharpe, Feit and Harasymiak helped the Pride to a 10-2 record and an Empire 8 Conference Regular-Season Championship. The 10-2 record for SC was a huge improvement from last season’s mark of 4-6. In the NCAA Division III Tournament, SC hosted two games, beating Curry (42-14), and then losing in the second round to St. John Fisher College (21-27) in a closely-fought game.

Feit, an applied exercise science major will graduate in May of 2007, while Sharpe, a business management major and Harasymiak, a physical education major will be back for their senior seasons in 2007.
