Boyington, Eiges, Poulin Lead Attack For Women's Tennis

Second-year head coach Michael Myers is the right man to re-establish Springfield College women’s tennis as one of the elite programs on the college scene.

The Pride dominated New England women’s tennis from 1985 through 1996, posting an amazing 137-25 record that included a 14-0 mark in 1990.

Liz Poulin returns for her senior campaign and will play #1 singles for the second consecutive season. Junior Melissa Boyington, who played #4 singles last fall, and sophomore Jackie Eiges, who played at #5, should figure in at #2 and #3 this season. Sophomore Aimee Dalenta will also move up to #4 singles, while junior Sarah Anderson, sophomore Meagan Barton, senior Melinda Brunner and junior Jamiee Cameron will be looked upon to step up and perform at #5 and #6.

Myers has flexibility in doubles play. Poulin and Eigas are a capable duo at #1, while Boyington and Dalenta will team up at #2.
