Babson Halts Women's Tennis In NEWMAC Quarterfinals

BABSON PARK, Mass., October 22, 2005 - Babson College senior Fran Russo won at #2 singles (6-0, 6-2) and teamed up with Courtney Farrell at #2 doubles for an 8-0 win as the third-seeded Beavers swept the sixth-seeded Springfield College Pride, 5-0, in quarterfinal action at this afternoon's (Oct. 22) New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis Tournament.

Babson advances to take on No. 2 MIT in the semifinal round later this afternoon, in a 2:00 p.m. match start. For SC, the Pride finishes its season at 3-11 overall and 2-5 in NEWMAC play.
