Women's Tennis Drops Match At Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass., October 5, 2005 - Holy Cross senior Carrie Simmons defeated Springfield College freshman Melissa Weinstein (Allentown, Pa.) in #1 singles action as the Crusaders defeated the Pride, 7-0, in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon, October 5.

Simmons then teamed up with junior Kerry Trimmer to defeat SC's #1 doubles squad of Weinstein and junior Meghan Kelly (Queensbury, N.Y.) in an 8-3 decision.

The Pride falls to 3-9 overall on the season and remains at 2-4 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. SC will next compete at Babson College this weekend, in a conference match on Saturday afternoon, October 8, at 1:00 p.m.
