Women's Gymnastics Falls At Cortland, 175.05-172.45

Cortland, N.Y., Jan. 15, 2003 - Springfield College junior Holly Desrocher's (Meuthen, Mass.) second place finish on the uneven bars (8.25) and fourth place finish on vault (9.175) wasn't enough as SUNY Cortland downed the Pride 175.05-172.45 in each team's season opener Wednesday night at Corey Gymnasium.

SC (0-1) also received strong second-place finishes from sophomores Amanda Roth (Bloomfield, N.Y.) on the balance beam (9.025) and Jolene Woznicki (Warren, Conn.) on the floor exercise (9.375).

Cortland sophomore Kristen Marzello (Buffalo, N.Y.) took top honors on the vault (9.325) as the Red Dragons (1-0) swept the top three spots in the event.

The Pride next see action this Sunday when they travel to Providence, R.I. to face Brown and Yale.
