Men's Tennis Downs WPI, 5-2

Springfield Mass., April 15, 2003 - - Springfield College junior Chris Sweeney (Wakefield, Mass.) won in #3 singles play to help lift the Pride to a 5-2 victory over WPI in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference play Tuesday afternoon at Appleton Courts.

Pride freshman Justin Freitas (East Providence, R.I.) won in #4 singles, while junior Brad Boisvert (Ponaganset, R.I.) won in #5 singles and sophomore Tim Losee (Berlin, N.H.) took #6 singles.

Junior Yuta Yoshi (Yokosuka, Japan) and sophomore Rich Aseltine (Tyngsboro, Mass.) won #1 doubles and Boisvert teamed up with junior Chris Brouses (Delran, N.J.) to win #3 doubles for Springfield.

Orest Skoplyak and Steve Fleck both won in singles play for WPI.

Head Coach Tim Losee

Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
