

Springfield, Mass., November 8, 2005 - Springfield College seniors Justin Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.) and Zach Pereira (E. Providence, R.I.) have been named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Soccer All-Conference First-Team, as announced at this afternoon’s annual postseason conference coaches meeting.
Pereira, who hails from East Providence, R.I., has been a four-year starter and tri-captain for the Pride. Pereira has been SC’s most solid defender all season. One of the Pride’s most versatile athletes, he also tallied one goal and one assist in his senior season at SC.
Pepoli, a native of Ashburnham, Mass., recorded three goals and one assist for a total of seven points from the midfield position this season. Like Pereira, Pepoli was a senior tri-captain this season, contributing very effectively from both the offensive and defensive sides of the field this year.
Only the seventh coach in a rich soccer tradition dating back to 1906, Peter Haley '77 G '78 will be entering his 25th season of coaching at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. A veteran of 28 years on the college soccer circuit, Haley has amassed over 200 wins during his impressive tenure. Read more.
