

With the win, Springfield raised its overall record to 2-3.
Springfield did not lose a set in a match that lasted a lightning-quick two hours and 15 minutes.
The match began with doubles play, with the Pride jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Springfield's No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams made quick work of their two matches, winning 8-1 and 8-0. SC's winners at No. 2 included senior co-captain Rahul Bala (Enfield, Conn.) and sophomore Trevor Romanzi (Bayshore, N.Y.). At No. 3, it was junior Bobby Schlink (Quaker Hill, Conn.) and sophomore Tim Tunis (Sudbury, Mass.).
The closest and most competitive match of the day took place at No. 1 doubles. Springfield's senior co-captain Joe Lisi (Southbridge, Mass.) and junior Andrew Constant (Kingston, N.Y.) had to come through in their final three games to win, 8-6. They defeated AIC senior Peter Almlof (Kennett Square, Pa.) and freshman Robert Lubold (Holyoke, Mass.).
In singles play, the closest match came at No. 2 with Lisi defeating sophomore Max Collins (Westfield, Mass.), 6-2, 6-2. At No. 6 singles, Tunis won 6-0, 6-0. Combine that with his 8-0 win in No. 3 doubles, and Tunis did not lose a game all day.
