Women's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision to MIT

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (September 29, 2007) - Senior Jess Sousa (Falmouth, Mass.) won at No. 4 singles, but it was not enough as MIT downed the Pride, 8-1, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action on Saturday at the Appleton Courts.

With the win, MIT improved to 4-1 this season while the Pride had its two-match winning streak snapped and fell to 2-4. Rachel Kushma (London, England) put up a good effort as she fell to Mariah Hoover, 6-3,6-2 at No. 3 singles.

The Pride wrap up its home schedule on Tuesday when it hosts local-rival Mount Holyoke at 4:00 p.m.
