

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – March 31, 2007 – The Springfield College men’s gymnastics team placed 6th of eight teams at the ECAC-EIGL Championships at Temple University this evening.
The host team, Temple, wound up winning the team event, capturing its first EIGL Championship since 2003. The Owls came up with 208.400 points.
Placing second was Illinois-Chicago (202.700), followed by Army (200.300), Navy (198.750), William & Mary (197.800), Springfield (182.000), MIT (176.150), and James Madison (161.000).
Temple junior Luke Vexler won the all-around, leading a 1-2-3 sweep for the Owls overall.
The remaining individual champions will be determined Sunday (Apr. 1).
Entering his 28th season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner, who has coached 135 All-Americans and 18 National Champions, led the Pride to another successful season in 2009.
