

BOSTON, Mass. - February 9, 2008 – The Springfield College women's indoor track and field team competed in the Valentine's Invitational over the weekend hosted at Boston University. The meet was comprised of schools from all three divisions as well as professional athletes.
Kelsey Bishop placed 17th out of a field of 70 in the weight throw with a toss of 46-01.25. Senior Alyssa Brigham crossed the finish line in 49th place out of 126 runners in the mile run in a time of 5:14.47.
The Pride return to action on Saturday when it competes in the Tufts Invitational.
Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
