Men's Tennis Drops Its First of the Year to Stevens Tech, 5-4

SANLANDO, Fla.-- March 13, 2007 - After dropping all three doubles matches, Stevens Tech made an unlikely comeback to defeat the Springfield College men's tennis team by a score of 5-4. It was SC's first loss of the academic year. The Pride is now 3-1.

The Pride won all of the doubles matches to go up 3-0, but Stevens came through with enormous success in singles, winning five of six matches to post the victory. Despite the disappointing finish, Springfield received two strong performances from Ethan Clime (Bristol, Maine).

In doubles, Clime paired with Rahul Bala to get the win in a hotly-contested match that went to a tiebreaker, 9-8 (8-6). Clime then went on to defeat Mullican in straight sets in the No. 5 singles match, 7-5, 6-2.
