Complete NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division III All-New England Region Teams
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., December 7, 2006 - Sophomore defender Kayla Thibeault (Lebanon, Conn.) of Springfield College has been named to the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas NCAA Division III Women's All-New England Region Second Team.
Thibeault played a key role in both defense and offense for the Springfield College women’s soccer team. She was a major factor for the Pride defense which allowed just over one goal a match. On offense, she had three goals and an assist. Two of her three goals were match-winners.
This was Kayla’s first year with the Pride after transferring from Manhattan College.
This award adds to her post-season collection. In November she was named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team. She was also named to the D3kicks.com All-New England Region First Team. Earlier in the season she garnered a position on the D3kicks.com Team of the Week after scoring a match-winning goal against Western New England College.
The SC women’s soccer team had a very good season, finishing 14-6. The Pride ended its season by losing to NEWMAC foe, Smith College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Tournament final.
