

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 9, 2007) – Andrew Constant of Springfield College has been named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Singles Player of the Week for the week of April 9.
The reigning NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, Constant, a sophomore from Kingston, R.I., plays number one singles for Springfield College, and has been at that slot for the past two seasons.
This past week, he went 2-0 in singles play. In his match against Connecticut College, he defeated Dave Kellogg, 6-4, 6-3, last Tuesday (Apr. 3). Then on Saturday (Apr. 7), he defeated Clark University’s Adam Bisceglia, 6-2, 6-1, during the Pride’s 9-0 team victory.
Constant was also rewarded with Springfield College’s Male Maroon of the Week designation. It was the first time this season that a men’s tennis player has received this award.
Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
