Uguccioni Competes at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- March 10, 2007 -- Dominic Uguccioni, a junior from Springfield College, competed in the 2007 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana over the past weekend.

The native of Colrain, Mass. finished 11th in the weight throw on Friday in his only competition. His best throw was 49-feet, 6 1/4-inches.

Uguccioni was the only competitor, man or woman, from Springfield College to participate.

Thus, the indoor portion of the season is over. The SC men had finished third of 55 teams, and the women eighth of 56 teams, at the ECAC Division III Championships one week previous to the NCAA's.

The outdoor portion of the season will begin Saturday, March 31 when both Springfield's men and women will travel to Rensselaer in Troy, N.Y.
