

WORCESTER, Mass., October 1, 2005 -- Springfield College sophomore goalkeeper B.J. Sturdivant (Bear, Del.) tallied five saves, but the Pride fell at Clark University, 3-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday afternoon, October 1, in Worcester, Mass.
Daniel Hoffman tallied the first goal of the game for the Cougars (9-1, 3-0 NEWMAC) just six minutes into the contest. In the second half, Clark added to the lead with two more scores from Jenner Alpern and David Blum as Clark held the Pride scoreless for the 3-0 victory.
Sturdviant, who averages 4.67 saves per game, added five saves to his season total of 28. Clark goalkeeper Matt Talbot recorded three saves.
SC next travels to Bridgewater State for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, in a 4:00 p.m. start.
