Men's Golf Second in Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational

JAFFREY, N.H. , Oct. 13, 2004 – Junior Tyson Briggs (Bennington, Vt.) led the Springfield College to a second-place overall team finish in the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational II after carding a round of 83 yesterday afternoon. Briggs' individual score was good enough for second place in the tournament as well.

Senior Justin Franczek (Chicopee, Mass.) and sophomore Jeff Cogan (Walworth, N.Y.) also had strong performances for the Pride each shooting 92.

SC also had a strong showing on Tuesday at the the 24th annual Skidmore Invitational, hosted by the McGregor Links Club of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Pride placed fifth out of nine teams.

Freshman Joe Tesori (Dewitt, N.Y.) paced SC with a score of 85. Freshman Bryan Chiravaolo (Trumbull, Conn.) finished a stroke behind his classmate with a score of 86.
