Women's Gymnastics Records Fall On Sunday
SPRINFIELD, Mass., February 22, 2004-- Springfield College freshman Keriann Hart (Hanover, Mass.) set a school record in the all-around competition (37.475) this afternoon, as the Pride placed second in a tri-meet with the University of Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut in Blake Arena.
Springfield (7-7) totaled 186.350 points, which is also school record. Southern Connecticut won the competition with 188.650 while Bridgeport scored 185.675 points to finish in third.
Hart, who had set the previous all-around record last week, finished fourth on the uneven bars (9.450) and fifth on the balance beam (9.375). SC senior Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) finished second in both the floor exercise (9.725) and the vault (9.450), while placing fourth in the all-around competition (37.400).
Southern Connecticut junior Sarah Wesley took first place on the balance beam (9.70) and the all-around competition, compiling a 38.125 mark.
