Jamaal Gibbs Named To NEWMAC Second Team

Babson Park, Mass. – March 4, 2008 - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2007-08 Men's Basketball Post-season awards on Tuesday.

NEWMAC tournament champions Coast Guard, led the way with three All-Conference selections. Junior Craig Johnson (Medford, Ore.) and senior Al Sowers (Monrovia, Md.) were named to the first team, while senior Jeff Prebeck (Columbus, Ind.) was named to the second team. WPI senior Antoine Coleman (Everett, Mass.) was named NEWMAC Player of the Year, while his coach, Chris Bartley was named NEWMAC Coach of the year. Anthony Coppola (Watertown, Mass.) was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the year, as a unanimous selection, and was also selected to the All-Conference second team. Clark University took home the league's Sportsmanship award.

Babson senior Kyle McDonald (Wethersfield, Conn.) and MIT junior Jimmy Bartolotta (Littleton, Colo.) rounded out the All-Conference first team. Joining Prebeck and Coppola on the second team were Clark sophomore Mark Alexander (Providence, R.I.), Springfield senior Jamaal Gibbs (Norwalk, Conn.) and WPI senior Jim Marois (Worcester, Mass.).
