Men's Gymnastics Downs Navy But Loses to William & Mary

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Feb. 2, 2003 - The Springfield College men's gymnastics team posted a team score of 198.650 on its way to a split with host Navy (198.100) and William & Mary (206.750) in a tri-meet this afternoon in Maryland's capital.

Timothy Goetz (South Plainfield, N.Y.) finished an impressive afternoon by finishing third in the all-around competition with 51.00 points. Goetz captured first place in the still rings (9.05), parallel bars (8.60), and third place on the floor exercise (8.85) and vault (8.60).
William & Mary senior Pat Fitzgerald won the all-around with a score of 51.85.
The Pride move to 3-2 on the season. The Tribe improve to 4-1 and the Midshipmen fell to 1-4.
