Marisa Clapp Places Third at Middlebury Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept 14, 2002- Springfield College junior Marisa Clapp (Charlton, Mass.) ran to an impressive third-place finish at the 2002 Panther Women’s Cross Country Invitational held at Middlebury College this afternoon.
Clapp, who won the Amherst Invitational last Saturday, covered the 5-kilometer course in 18:57.5. Teammates Kelley Henry (Whitinsville, Mass.)and Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y.) placed 13th and 14th, respectively, out of 65 runners. Henry’s time was 20:52.4 and Young’s time was 20:58.2.
The Pride placed third in the seven-team field. Host Middlebury won the event. Michela Adrian of Middlebury placed first with a time of 18:50.6.
