

SUNY Cortland’s Amber French took first place in the vault and tied for first on the floor exercise as the Red Dragons squeaked by Springfield College 186.525 to 185.575. The team score for the Pride marks their highest total of the season.
Senior Alice Efland (Auburn, Maine) of Springfield College had two personal bests with a fifth place score of 9.525 on the floor exercise and a fourth place score of 9.300 on the uneven parallel bars. Also setting a personal best on the floor was sophomore Alexandra Ploenes (Medina, Ohio) who tied for first with a score of 9.700.
With more personal bests on the floor exercise were sophomore Kayleigh Davis (Whitefield, N.H.) sophomore Jeanna Bradle (New Milford, CT) and junior Jackie Mazzola (Framingham, MA).
Along with Efland on the parallel bars with personal bests were junior Jenna Williams (Townsend, MA) who finished second with a 9.450, freshman Ashley Moreck (Berlin, Md.) and senior Amberlynn Gifford (Manchester, N.H.).
Freshman Christina Pagella (Westfield, MA) was outstanding on the balance beam with a score of 9.500 which beat her previous best mark by a half point.
Next week the Women’s Gymnastics team will be back in action as they host MIT in a dual meet on Sunday, February 24th at 1 p.m. in Blake Arena.
