SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 18, 2004 – Twenty-two Springfield College student-athletes were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Spring Academic All-Conference Team.
SC had 67 student-athletes honored on NEWMAC all-academic teams in the 2003-'04 academic year.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2003 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at his or her institution, and been a member of a varsity team for the entire season.
Spring sports sponsored by the NEWMAC include: baseball, softball, men's and women's track & field, men's tennis and women's lacrosse.
The NEWMAC is comprised of 10 Division III institutions: Babson, Clark, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Springfield College, Wellesley, Wheaton, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
