Twenty-Two Student-Athletes Honored By NEWMAC
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 18, 2004 – Twenty-two Springfield College student-athletes were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Spring Academic All-Conference Team.SC had 67 student-athletes honored on NEWMAC all-academic teams in the 2003-'04 academic year.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2003 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at his or her institution, and been a member of a varsity team for the entire season.
Spring sports sponsored by the NEWMAC include: baseball, softball, men's and women's track & field, men's tennis and women's lacrosse.
The NEWMAC is comprised of 10 Division III institutions: Babson, Clark, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Springfield College, Wellesley, Wheaton, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Head Coach Kristen Mullady
Kristen Mullady ‘00, has been named an assistant professor of physical education and head women’s lacrosse coach at Springfield College. A former standout for Springfield’s women’s lacrosse team, Mullady returns to her alma mater to head up a program that went 12-6 and reached the conference tournament championship game a year ago.
