Jason Benguche Named To New England Football Writers Div. II/III All-New England Team

BOSTON, Mass., November 17, 2005- Springfield College senior offensive lineman Jason Benguche (Housatonic, Mass.) has been honored as a 2005 New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England Team selection, in an announcement made out of Boston, Mass., this afternoon (Nov. 17).

Benguche, the 6-3, 270-pound lineman who graduated from Monument Mountain, had an extremely solid senior season on the offensive line for the Pride, as SC finished its season ranked third in all of Division III in rushing offense, averaging 339.6 yards per game.

The All-New England team will be honored at the New England Football Writers Banquet on Thursday, December 8, at Lantana’s Function Hall in Randolph. Anyone interested in attending this prestigious event should contact Dick Lipe at Bentley College (781-891-2334).

After dropping its first four games of the season, SC responded nicely, running off four of its final six contests to finish its 2005 campaign with a 4-6 overall mark. In its last two games, the Pride scored 59 points in each of them, beating its opponents by a combined 70 points (118-48).
