Seven Football Players Earn NFF Hampshire Honor Society Membership
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- April 16, 2008 -- A total of seven Springfield College football players, all seniors, have been named members of the prestigious 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. The society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who have maintained a 3.2 GPA or better. The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) made the announcement.

The seven Springfield College football players include wide receiver Kyle Anderson (Providence, R.I.), linebacker Jason Bakoulis (Norwich, Conn.), defensive end Brian Hess (Kingston, Mass.), defensive tackle Conor Hughes (Dorchester, Mass.), tight end Sean Kemp (Warwick, N.Y.), halfback Derron Walker (White Plains, N.Y.), and wide receiver Jeremy Zelinski (Groton, Conn.).

In order to qualify, one had to: 1) be a starter or a significant substitute in one's last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, or an NAIA colege or university; 2) achieve a 3.2 cumulative GPA throughout his entire course of undergraduate study; and 3) meet all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
