

BABSON PARK, Mass., October 8, 2005 - Springfield College senior Angela Giles (Concord, N.H.) picked up a victory at #6 singles, but the Pride fell at Babson College this afternoon (Oct. 8), 7-2, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match in Babson Park, Mass.
For Giles, it was the third singles victory in the senior's past four matches, as she has come on strong as of late for SC. Giles defeated Babson's Annie Chrys.
The Pride's #1 doubles combination of freshman Melissa Weinstein (Allentown, Pa.) and junior Meghan Kelly (Queensbury, N.Y.) also picked up a win over Babson's Liz Magner and Meena Anvary, 9-7.
SC is now 3-10 overall on the season as it slips to 2-5 in conference play. The Pride will next host non-conference foe, Wesleyan University, on Tuesday afternoon, October 11, in a 4:00 p.m. start.

Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
