Southern Connecticut Edges Women's Gymnastics

NEW HAVEN, Conn.,Feb. 23, 2003-Springfield College sophomore Amanda Roth (Bloomfield, N.Y.) and junior Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) finished in a third-place tie on the beam (9.300) but SC fell to Southern Connecticut State, 187.475-183.525, on Sunday at the Moore Field House.

SC senior Trisha Talerico (Rome, N.Y.) capped off a strong afternoon with a third place finish on the floor exercise (9.700),

For Southern Connecticut State, Kristan Silvestri won the all-around competition with a score of 38.075.

SC (0-8) travels to Cambridge, Mass., to take on MIT and Vermont on March 1.
