Football Remains #1 in New England Division III; Cracks Top 25 in Two National Polls
Head Coach Mike DeLong's Pride, the top-ranked team in Division III New England, have returned to both Top 25 national polls.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., September 26, 2006 – The 3-0 Springfield College football team has been ranked #1 in New England once again this week in the season’s second New England Division III Coaches poll, released Monday, September 26th. The Pride was also ranked #1 in last week’s poll, the first of 2006.

SC garnered 132 total points (seven first-place votes) to 2nd-place Trinity’s 124 total points (five first-place votes). Curry was third with 109 points (two first-place votes).

In addition, the Pride has been ranked 20th nationally (up one spot) by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette, and 25th nationally (up nine spots) by D3football.com.
