

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., August 10, 2007 – Peter Ferraro ‘07 has been appointed head men’s cross country coach at Springfield College for the 2007-08 academic year, Director of Athletics Cathie Schweitzer announced. Ferraro will replace former head coach James Larson and will start his part-time position immediately.
“Peter’s enthusiasm and passion for our athletic program and the College are impressive and we are delighted to have him join our staff as men’s cross country coach,” said Springfield College Associate Director of Athletics, Dr. Kelly Hart.
A native of Springfield, Mass., Ferraro returns to his alma mater to head the cross country squad. A four-year letterwinner for the Pride, Ferraro served as the team captain during the 2006 campaign and was selected to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team.
“I am looking forward to returning to the Springfield College men’s cross country team as a coach and an alum,” said Ferraro. “I am extremely excited to be able to pass down my passion, skills, and experiences to a team that I was recently a part of.”
Graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Business Management, Ferraro previously served as the assistant track coach at Cathedral High School in Springfield.
