

In the first game of the season against Albertus Magnus on Saturday, Dan Larrow picked up the win for Springfield in relief after pitching 2/3 of an inning of perfect ball, including one strikeout. Winning by a score of 5-4, Casey Federico delivered the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh as he went 2-for-4 in the game. Travis Turgeon knocked home a pair of runs in the game, going 2-for-3.
In the second game of the doubleheader against Albertus Magnus, Springfield used a 10-run second inning to blow open the game en route to a 24-4 win.
On Sunday, the Pride dropped a pair to Roger Williams, 11-5 in the first game, and 6-5, in the second contest. When pitcher Ryan White was hit by a comebacker in the first inning, the Pride relied healily on it's bullpen. Justin Nussey recorded a single and a double in the game for Springfield.
In the nightcap, Springfield led 5-2 but couldn't hold on as it fell, 6-5, to Roger Williams. Drew Michael led the way for SC from the plate as he went 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI in the loss.
The Pride got back on the winning track on Monday as it rallied past Brockport for a 10-8 win. White was outstanding on the mound for the Pride as he came in and shut down the Eagles in a relief effort. White picked up the win, pitching 3 and 2/3 innings, yielding just two hits and striking out four for SC. With Brockport taking a one-run advantage, 8-7, after a five-run sixth inning, the Pride responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 10-8 lead. Ryan Tatreau had a pair of singles and two RBI in the win.
