Women's Lacrosse Advances To NEWMAC Championship With 12-7 Victory Over Wellesley
NORTON, Mass. - Springfield College senior forward Erin Looney (West Springfield, Mass.) scored four goals to lead SC past Wellesley College, 12-7, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament this afternoon hosted by Wheaton College.
SC (11-5) advances to play Wheaton for the third-straight season in the championship game on Sunday (May 1) at 1:00 p.m. with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Divison III Tournament.
Sophomore forward Ashley Martell (Billerica, Mass.) was credited with three assists for the Pride, which has won seven of its last eight games.

Kristen Mullady ‘00, has been named an assistant professor of physical education and head women’s lacrosse coach at Springfield College. A former standout for Springfield’s women’s lacrosse team, Mullady returns to her alma mater to head up a program that went 12-6 and reached the conference tournament championship game a year ago.
