

OXFORD, Ohio - March 22, 2008 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team finished in 14th place overall after the final day of the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Miami’s (Ohio) Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
The Pride finished the three day event with 96 points and 14th overall out of 62 teams.
In the 100 freestyle, Roy Burch finished in sixth place after finishing in a time of 45.08. The time tied a school record previously set in 2000 by Howard Hines.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Roy Burch, Matt Manoni, Anthony Bruno, and Greg Pearsall finished in ninth place overall with a time of 3:04.15, a new Springfield College record, to lead the way for the Pride on Saturday.
John Taffe enters his 21st season in 2009-2010 as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 25th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2009-2010.
