Springfield, Mass. - November 4, 2009 - As a tribute to Myles Brand, the NCAA president who died on Sept. 16 as a result of pancreatic cancer, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has created a MILES for MYLES initiative to be conducted on college campuses across the nation. A three-mile run/walk event for Sunday, Nov. 8 will take place at the Springfield College Track from 10 am to 12 noon. The three mile distance is representative of the three divisions of the NCAA. Springfield, Mass. -- November 3, 2009 -- The Springfield College football team, now 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the Empire 8 following its big 47-26 win over Ithaca last Saturday, has returned to the No. 1 ranking in the New England Division III weekly coaches poll.
