Joel Dearing continued to rack up awards, this time on the regional scale on Wednesday evening. Both Ilkson and Lively were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New England All-Region Team, while Dearing was honored as the 2008 AVCA New England Region Coach of the Year.

MEDFORD, Mass. – November 14, 2008 - The Springfield College women's volleyball season came to a close on Friday evening after it dropped a 3-0 decision to arguably the hottest team in New England, the Williams College Ephs, in the Regional Semifinals of the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship at Cousens Gymnasium on the campus of Tufts University.

Women's Volleyball Breezes By Maine Maritime, 3-0, In NCAA Tournament First Round
MEDFORD, Mass. -- November 13, 2008 - The Springfield College Pride was too much for the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners to handle, as the Pride swept the Mariners 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-10) in a first-round match of the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Thursday afternoon
at the New England Regional hosted by Tufts University.

Joel Dearing ’79, has led his alma mater to nine post-season tournaments, including six NCAA Tournaments, three berths in the national quarterfinals, and six conference titles.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
