About The Team

A storied tradition of success at Springfield College was reinforced in 2008 as the Pride went on to capture its fifth Molten Division III National Championships in front of a packed Blake Arena. SC captured its third consecutive national championship in 2003 with a win at previously top-ranked Juniata. It was the first time a Division III men's volleyball program had won three straight national titles.

At the 2002 national championship, the Pride toppled the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III National Poll to capture its second straight national championship.

The Pride has finished No. 1 in the final AVCA Division III National Poll an impressive six times (1996, '97, '01, '02, '03, '08).

For the first time in program history, the Pride earned a home game in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Coaches Association (EIVA) Division I Tournament as Springfield finished the regular season as the fourth seed. Sophomore Cal Palumbo continued to be a dominant force as he took home AVCA All-America First Team honors, while teammates Mark Ribeiro and Eric Shoemaker were named second-team All-Americans.
