Tim Losee Named Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Springfield College

Springfield, Mass. – August 19, 2009 – Tim Losee ’05, G’07 has been named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College, according to Springfield College Director of Athletics
Cathie Schweitzer. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs, effective immediately.

Coast Guard Ends Men's Tennis' Season in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals
New London, Conn. -- April 23, 2009 -- The Coast Guard Academy men's tennis team defeated Springfield College, 5-1, earlier this afternoon at the Academy's tennis courts in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match. With the loss, Springfield's tennis season is over.

About The Team
The Springfield College men's tennis program, which dates back to 1909, has an impressive tradition. Through the 2009 season, SC's all-time record is 559-392-16, which translates into a .586 winning percentage. From 1985 to 1995, SC won six conference team titles, and produced 25 individual and 14 doubles conference champions.
In the past four years (2006-2009), Springfield College has been the recipient of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Rookie of the Year honors twice.
Andrew Constant ’09 was tabbed NEWMAC Rookie of the Year in 2006, while
Trevor Romanzi '10 won similar honors in '07. In 2007, SC finished 8-7 overall, 3-2 in the conference, and reached the semifinals of the NEWMAC post-season tourney. In 2008, Springfield finished 7-6 overall, 4-1 in the conference, and once again reached the semis of the NEWMAC post-season tourney. Romanzi was named Second Team All-NEWMAC singles that season. He and
Rahul Bala were named First Team All-NEWMAC Doubles (No. 2 doubles). The No. 3 doubles team of
Bobby Schlink '09 and
Tim Tunis '10 were named Second Team All-NEWMAC doubles. Then in 2009,
Eric Henne '11 was named First Team All-NEWMAC at No. 6 singles.
