


Burrell, who hails from Warwick, R.I., was sensational for the Pride as he returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and returned two punts for 76 yards to help Springfield defeat Utica.
His 70-yard punt return early in the third quarter set up Springfield's first touchdown of the second half. Burrell, who entered the game ranked sixth in the nation in punt returns and seventh in kickoff returns, improved his per return averages in both categories.
For his efforts, Burrell was chosen as the Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Week. The award marks the third time this season Burrell has been honored for his special teams play.
Burrell also made three tackles for a stout defensive unit which limited Utica to just 16 points.
