Rein, a native of Mystic, Conn., tallied a pair of goals as the field hockey team handed Wellesley its first conference loss of the season by a score of 4-2. For her first goal, Rein and teammate Becca Gamble created a two-on-one to pull the Wellesley goaltender off her post and Rein put the shot away to give Springfield a 2-1 lead. Rein completed her two-goal performance early in the second half, scoring unassisted off of a rebound, to stretch the Pride lead to 3-1.
Earlier in the week, Rein pitched in with an assist on Springfield's only goal in an overtime loss against conference foe, Mount Holyoke.
For the season, the senior co-captain has a team-best 10 assists and is tied for the team lead in goals with five. Rein has scored three game-winning goals for the Pride this year.
