Ryan Mackstutis: Men's Swimming

Going up against the Division I Holy Cross Crusaders, the Pride downed the visitors 132-106 in its season-opening meet.

Mackstutis, a native of Torrington, Conn., got the Pride off to a great start as he joined with teammates Jerry Cummiskey, Tony Bruno, and younger brother Scott Mackstutis to win the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:45.44.

Mackstutis then picked up his second win of the night as he swam a 2:03.81 in the 200 IM. He completed his outstanding evening with a victory in an exhibitioned race, the 200 breast, as he touched the wall in 2:19.78.
